BB-8 is a toy my son has, and for a long time I kept thinking about using it in a photoshoot until I finally did it.
For these photos, I wanted a more dramatic and cinematic atmosphere. I used three lights: a white light, a blue light, and a red light. I also used a fog machine to add texture and create a more immersive mood.
Working with BB-8 was interesting because it reminded me of how inspiration can come from the simplest things around us. Sometimes I don’t need a big idea or a complex setup — I just need to pay attention to the little things I see every day. This toy was always there at home, and one day it clicked: it was time to turn it into a character in front of my lens.
I also enjoyed the challenge of making a small object look powerful and alive. With the combination of colored lights and fog, BB-8 became more than just a toy. It felt like a scene taken straight from a movie. Photography allows me to transform something ordinary into something that carries emotion, and this session reminded me of why I love creating images.
Another thing I liked about this shoot is that it connects my photography with a personal memory. Using something that belongs to my son made the session special in a different way. It wasn’t just about building a cinematic look — it was about capturing a moment that has meaning to me. I think photography becomes stronger when it has a personal story behind it, even when the subject is as small as a droid from Star Wars.
